Best-In-Class In-Process Inspection Training

Introduction: 7:1 ROI! Early defect detection averages 7:1 ROI!  Defects cost less when discovered early in a process (e.g., at the point of injection).

NOTE: This training exceeds the CMMI Verification (VER) requirements for Peer Reviews (Goal 2).
Common Problems of Late Defect Detection Most organizations:
Remove defects late in the process when defects cost 10-20 times more.
“Test in Quality”
Have 20-40% costs of poor quality (e.g., defects, rework, waste, scrap, etc.)
For example, an organization with a $100 million dollar payroll for a department will average 33% cost of poor quality per year (i.e., $33 million wasted on defects, rework, etc. every year!).  How can an organization cut this is half?  How can the costs of poor quality be reduced from 33% to under 10%? (e.g., reduce from $33 million to under $10 million, or reduce by $23 million per year!)
Best-In-Class Inspection Training Description The purpose of In-Process Inspections is to detect and correct defects early in a process.  Best-In-Class In-Process Inspections can detect and correct 70-90% of all defects on a project before the testing phase, or early in the process.  Inspections detect and correct defects early in a process (e.g., requirements, design, etc.) when defects cost less to fix.  This course will provide the motivation, knowledge, and skills to perform best-in-class inspections successfully, allow you to practice each inspection process stage, and equip you with the inspection process, checklists, forms, and measurements you need to perform inspections at your organization.
Training Objectives The training objectives for Best-In-Class In-Process Inspection Training are to provide motivation, knowledge, and skills to:

Understand the problems with late defect removal and “testing in quality”.
Understand motivation and knowledge of early defect detection.
Learn skills of how to remove defects early in a process.
Learn best practices and secrets for obtaining 7:1 ROI

There is also time set aside within each exercise to answer any of your questions.
Tailoring and Onsite Training This training can be tailored to better meet your organization’s needs.  For example, if your organization already performs inspections this training can be tailored to improve your current process and delivered onsite at your organization.
